Site Description
The Dahieh district of South Beirut — specifically the Haret Hreik and Bourj al-Barajneh neighbourhoods — constitutes the principal command, control, and administrative zone of Hezbollah. The area houses Hezbollah's political and military headquarters, media facilities, and key command infrastructure. The area was repeatedly struck by Israeli precision munitions during the September–October 2024 operation that killed Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah (September 27, 2024) and multiple senior commanders. Archival imagery from 2023–2024 documents the infrastructure density of this zone prior to the strikes, and post-strike imagery from October 2024 onwards documents extensive structural damage, debris clearance, and early-phase reconstruction activity. The area remains the primary Hezbollah command node.
